It stoped working after a week. In my opinion this is not worth the cost.......
I had this DVD player for about a month before it stoped working. It was playing one day. The next day it says invalid disc after it spins the disc for almost 10 minutes. I have tried every disc in my DVD collection and I even tried cleaning it with one of those lens cleaners. It still does NOT work. This DVD PLAYER SUCKS!!!!! I don't even want to put the warrenty into effect it stopped working after a month why would I want another one. This is the first and last coby product I will ever buy in my life.......
I used it for only few hours. The unit is very noisy and it takes a while to start playing and it gets very worm. Now it does not play at all I tried different CD, DVD still no play I only get "Invalid Disc" after waiting for a while as usual. Also noticed sparks when plugging the unit in and also the disc keeps turning even when the unit turned off, but still plugged in!!! It's been only a month I bought this unit and it only worked few hours. I noticed looking at other reviews for COBY product DVD-233 it's with same story for those units. I never buy COBY products again, I think someone should investigate the company for "product quality check" management and convince them to get in some other business, simply I don't think microelectronics is for them. My advice is don't be fooled by the looks and their so called cheap price (It does not worth for that price if you want to use it as "statue" or a place holder on your shelf); for this invest only in name brands even they cost more; but think, how much you will save on headache pills later on. ......
I have been using the product for about a week now and so far it has passed the kids test. There are not too many navigation buttons on the unit itself but the remote is well equipped. It is perfect for what I want, great price and ideal for the kids TV to watch their educational DVD's.......
DVD player worked the first time I used it. After that it no longer reads any discs. It is also extremely hot and smells like it's burning up inside. It'll be in the e-waste pile on the next trip. Don't waste a little money on a Coby, spend more money wisely on something else.......
