Customer Reviews

Air Junk1
I agree with the reviewer who called this chinese junk. Let's face it, America (if not the rest of the world) is held captive by giant retailers and many manufacturers who find it easy to profit by selling Chinese made products. There was a time when "Made in China" merely meant laughable instructions in pidgen English and cheap plastic. Now we're facing large scale consumer safety threats and even worse-made products. I don't know what kind of quality assurance/quality control Spin Masters uses, if any, for their Chinese import toys, but I do know that this is the third strike for Air Hogs in my family. Starting with the pumped-up planes around 2001 with fragile wings. A battery-charged model in 2005 that I got from Sam's (I had to exchange after the first one had one motor that kept failing, the next one did the same, and I stupidly kept, hoping to get it to work and even lost a propellor and the retaining nut on impact).

Now this Mini Storm Launcher -- I thought I'd give AirHogs another go for Christmas -- it had some promise, especially since it appeared to be safer as a low-flyer, and ATV(?). Well, it proved hopeless on a smooth surface, or on the ground, but, worst of all, I had the same problem as the previous model, a faulty motor and quick & deadly nose spirals. Although the controller has a trim knob, I don't think it's an adjustment problem that one motor would keep going out. My boy and I decided that we weren't going to get burned again, so I helped him return it to WalMart. I wanted to talk him into going to Hobby Lobby for better RC choices, but I was surprised to find that WalMart has an Estes (the solid fuel rocket people who's products are found at HobbyLobby) toy-grade RC that was on clearance for half the price of the AirHogs Mini Storm Launcher. We've already enjoyed more sustained flight and better-protected propellors whose motors don't quit. FYI, I noticed that the AirHogs MSL was also 1/2-price the day after Christmas, but we were not even tempted to try again. By the way, I admit that our Estes plane is made in China, too (what isn't at WalMart anymore?), but maybe that company holds higher standards, too? We'll see. If you want to keep trying AirHogs, then good luck, but it would take an awful lot for me to ever give them another chance.

best christmas present I ever got4
I am 8 years old and just flew my mini storm launcher for the first time today(Christmas), I thought it was great!
It flew much faster than I expected and was easy to control after only a few launches. I flew it in a big open grassy space so all of my landings were o.k. My little brother liked it too. It is easy to make it turn and not too hard to land it well. I highly recommend this fun toy.
P.S. I like the sound it makes

good product no parts3
i had lots of fun with this toy until the propeller broke.I thought i could just order one from air hogs or find one on ebay.I checked all over the internet and called air hogs but could not find a thing.I am still looking for a replacement.I you do buy this product get it from a retailer so you can get a 90 day warranty if you break a prop.Don't fly this on grass because thats what breaks props. This is a great beginner rc plane.
