I was out on the market for an external DVD burner for my MacBook (which comes with a standard Combo Drive), and contemplated several (Mac Options: Apple's Internal Superdrive - $250!!! -, Apple's MBAir Superdrive - $99, works only with MBAir), and then decided to Google some options and came accross this beauty!!!



Pros:

- Fast FireWire 400 connection (bus powered, which means no cumbersome AC Adaptor to drag along)

- Slim factor, which means no bulky drive to carry around

- Lightscribe, which by itself it's a wonderful add-on to any Mac, not yet offered by Apple as an option

- Great price (considering the bundled software - Toast 8 Platinum + LaCie LightScribe Labeler 1.2 + LaCie Remote Burn 1.0

- Now I have two drives in my MacBook, which means easy CD/DVD copying.



Cons:

- Haven't found one yet!

THIS COMPANY TELEPHONED ME, I ASKED TO RETURN THIS ITEM IT WILL NOT WORK AND IT CONTAINED INSTRUCTION FOR A TOTALLY DIFFERENT PRODUCT.....

I have not received the RA # from them their is no # to call them on the phone so I would say DO NOT deal with this company, they can shove this garbage they sell and their customer service where the sun does not shine IMO.

Arrived DOA! it made LOUD clunky sounds after inserting a DVD then power shut off. Everytime. Haven't received an RMA yet even after I spoke to a customer rep confirming he will email it to me. I paid $26 shipping. The drive is still under my desk waiting to be returned.

Last word: DON'T BUY IT!!
