This is great the only thing I would change is the life of the battery mine only last about 40 minutes so philips is send me a new one, but I would like to see them last as long as 3-4 hours may be someday they will until then this is still the best one for your money. the fact that it plays my I-pod and all my Dvd's and has RCA hook ups so I can watch my shows on a big screen ( like when at a hotle on in my yukon) is great for me and my Family.

The unit is pretty good for the most part. The only draw back to it is that the battery life is poor. You have to be near a power source when you want to watch a movie.
Another problem with the unit is that in the iPod mode when you select a video it doesn't play it the selected video. You have to scroll through whole thing.
Good quality vidoe and sound is ok. The headset or ear buds are the way to go when listening to something unless your alone in the quiet room.
For it's small draw backs it's still worth it. Hopefully they can improve on this idea and make it better!!

Quality of the sound is not good; battery is running low quickly; often message "reset your iPod" even though no problem with the iPod (you have to turn off/on unit to fix the problem); menu navigation is burdesome, not as friendly as the iPod's one; needs a lot of improvements; otherwise, picture is good.

This is, for the price, a rather good portable dvd player. Granted, it could have a hard cover for the screen, the pop out stand is rather flimsy, and the viewing angle is not the largest. But, it has stood up to many hours of viewing nonetheless. It is user friendly in terms of controls. Overall, it's a good buy.

I bought "Philips DCP951/37 9-Inch Portable DVD Player" because it is compact and occupies less space. And, it worked well while I was in travel. Extra features like iPod Docking is excellent for those who do not have iPod Jack in car audio/video system. But, there are three comfort-related things to mention in this system. 1) I could not find a cheaper bag for this player which can hold it in a vertical direction because all portable DVD players' bags are designed for those which open in V-shape. 2)Because it is compact so it is not self-supportive when you need to hold it in vertical direction specially if you want to watch movie at home while this player is out of its bag. 3) DVD is inserted from back which means you will have to dismount it from its bag to change the DVD.
