Its easy to use, no problems at all, fast enough for largish backups (1000 photos avg).
Have used on Windows XP and Mac - no issues after 7 months.
I appreciate that I did not have to install any software.

I believe Seagate is a very reliable brand and thus far, this unit has not let me down. It works fast and connects/disconnects with ease. Being a different color (green) allows me to easily distinguish it among other external hard drives I owe.

Bought this unit from Amazon after researching lots of external hard drives. The unit is everything that is advertised - sleek, easy to use etc. etc. The one thing that is not mentioned is how slow it is, I can't believe how slow it is. I have a Maxtor hard drive and it's really fast and i expected the same from this .... this is so dissapointing. I have just bought a new desktop and decided to back up my laptop, it's been running day and night now and it's not even half way there. Don't buy this if you want to do anything quickly!

I am very satisfied with the Seagate Free Agent Go now, but was totally frustrated when I first installed it. The software delivered on the drive is woefully elementary and I really never did figure out how to set it to backup multiple directories and sub-directories. I really, really wanted to do a pc image copy as a starting point so I finally contacted Seagate (do it by phone, because their web support is not good) and in just a few sentences a very helpful SR told me what to download to enable image copy. I did it and am now very happy with my choice. I like the compact size and the red color. BTW - one of the things you will need to know about your drive to get support is the model # and it's is not on the equipment - you have to look it up on line or get the SR to help you.
The major dissatisfaction was with Amazon's delivery. The product was advertised as available for shipping on August 25 (5 days after I ordered it). When i didn't get a notice of shipment, I checked my order list and discovered it was not going to be available until August 31 and would take an estimated 10 days to arrive. At that point, I called customer service and told them they had misrepresented their product and asked why on earth it would take so long in shipment? The ST actually advised me to re-order with a more expensive (faster) shipping option and then refuse the original order when it arrived. what kind of business would recommend that sort of action?

I love the way this drive works and that it is simple and easy to use. However, I had to have in replaced (under warranty :) ) because of a problem with it suddenly no longer receiving enough power to run, which I have no idea how that came about. Seagate however was very helpful in replacing the product and I now have a working drive again.
