I was not sure about the Coby brand but I had done some shopping around for 10" portable DVD players for around $150 and this one had the best price and reviews so I tried it. The ear phones that came with it were very cheap and one of them didn't work but this didn't stop me from giving this product 5 stars. It is sturdy even with the swivel screen. The picture is good, the sound, without head phones, is not real loud but with the ear phones it is just fine. The battery lasts about 4 hours and it comes with a car charger as well as the wall charger.

The DVD player from Coby performed well at the beginning. By the second week, however, it would sometimes hang during a move. But by week four, it had stopped reading any DVD or CD. It would spin, but not recognize that a CD or DVD had been inserted. Lucky me, it was within 30 days of purchase.
However, Amazon's customer service has been great and prompt.

My husband and I bought this player less than four months ago and it has already stopped working! This was an adult owned product, well cared for and moderately used. We are very disappointed and sorry that we didn't purchase any kind of an extended warranty. This Coby was a replacement for our portable Insignia dvd player that served us well for over two years. We have had problems with Coby electronics before and for now on we are going to stick with better brands like Sony. I guess you get what you pay for!

No problems so far. You do have to take out of case to put in another CD which is unconvienent but tolerable.

I do like this DVD player. Took it on an airplane trip and kept the little one happy for 2 hours. Could not ask for more!
