I have two players, a Sony and this Dynex. I wouldn't recommend the Dynex for battery operation. The battery on mine won't hold any charge. It works fine as long as I plug it in to an AC outlet. I've tried charging it for a full day and it won't hold a charge. If you're looking for one that operates on batteries, I recommend you check out the Sony players.
