"Ok for price but a pain in the rump!! You get what you pay for" 2009-08-11
By C. LAM (Arizona)
Ok. This is not terrible. It is acceptable for the price I paid which was under $100 at X-mas time. Yes, under a 100 for the DUAL screen!!! The screen size is fine, quality is acceptable. MIy problem? You can't turn the volume up and down with remote, which is important when you have two kids in the back seat that can't do it themselves. MOST IMPORTANT HINT WHEN PURCHASING A DVD PLAYER? GET ONE THAT DOESN'T RESTART THE MOVIE WHEN YOU RESTART THE CAR!!

If I stop for gas and turn off the ignition,(not even all the way off, it is still in the "On" position)the kids have to start from the beginnning! Oh, and if they are watching it while the ignition is on but the car isn't running, it will restart AGAIN when you start the engine!!!

Also, my problem now is that I cannot get a screen connector cord replacement, which means only one screen is working right now. I'm waiting for someone to call me back (it has been a week)

I purchased this at Target and called them for support to get the contact info for "TruTech". I left a message for the person they put me in contact with and haven't heard anything. So, at this point, the price I paid made this a disposable Travel DVD system, since I can't get parts. I wouldn't pay more than $100 for this system.

Spend the extra $$ and get one that starts playing again where it was when you turned the car off.

"Worked ok for about a month, then cable broke" 2009-02-22
By BusyShopper
Not very high quality sound or video but since it was for toddlers, to be used on car trips, so ok. The buckle on the head rest is not the best either, but it can be adjusted somewhat.

One feature that would've been great is to have the DVD pick up where we left off once we shut the car; it just goes back to the beginning each time we stop and the kids have to skip forward to what they were watching.

The worst part is that the audio/video connection that goes from the primary unit to the secondary unit broke and the cheapest replacement I can find is $25.00. I'm not sure if it's worth replacing at this point. I'm inclined to just return the unit if I can.

 "love it" 2009-02-14

We bought this about 5 months ago for a trip from Miami to Texas for out then 11 month old daughter. It was fantastic. We still use it everytime we go well anywhere. It's nice for around town or long trips. I would recommend this to anyone.

"Works fine, but no battery." 2009-02-08
By R. Riding (Charlotte, NC, USA)
This dual-screen portable dvd player works fine. It doesn't have great quality picture or sound, but it's alright for watching kids movies on car trips. HOWEVER, it has to be plugged into a wall or the cigarette lighter on your car, it has NO BATTERY so it can't be taken on airplanes. That is a HUGE downfall for us. We're just sorry we didn't check into that earlier so that we could've returned it.

"Won't play some DVD-RWs, limited buttons on console need remote for full control" 2009-01-25
By Robert Bresalier (New Jersey)
I bought it and decided to do some tests.

Played the first of my recordable DVD-RW, but didn't play a second one which does play in my home DVD players.

A third DVD-RW played, it is not a wide-screen show, but the player expanded it to widescreen to my chagrin- didn't look good. There is no button on the console to switch it from wide like I had an another portable DVD player. Probably could have done it with the remote, but I didn't take the time to try since I got fed up and decided to return it to the store.

Limited buttons on the console. Must use the remote for lots of functionality. I don't like that on a portable unit.
