I bought one of these about four years ago. When our old unit died, I bought another one just like it. I loved the FF and REW buttons on the unit. The screen was nice and clear, the casing took a lot of abuse and still looked new (we had black not pink). Right after buying the second unit, the first one quit. Now the second one has quit as well - about two years after we bought it. They seem to have a two year life. In contrast, our first unit, a Mintek, looks horrible on the outside, but we have had it for about six years and it still works. It died for a short time, but after cleaning the sensor, it came back to life. I understand the Mintek and Magnavox are made by the same company. The remotes for the units are interchangable. The quality of the units are not the same, for whatever reason.
So my advice is against this unit unless you really don't mind it's two year life span.

JUST RECEIVED THE DVD PLAYER WHICH I BOUGHT FOR MY GRANDNIECE, SHE HAS BEEN WAITING FOR ONE SINCE WE GOT HER SISTER AND BROTHER ONE FOR THEIR CHRISTENINGS. IT LOOKS GREAT, CAME ON TIME WITH ALL THE REQUIRED COMPONENTS AND WAS MUCH BETTER PRICED EVEN WITH SHIPPING AND HANDLING THAN SEARS OR BEST BUY. VERY SATISFIED WITH MY EXPERIENCE.
